In 2010, it was a foot injury that kept Demaryius Thomas on the sideline during the Broncos’ season opener at Jacksonville.

Last year, Thomas didn’t play in the Broncos’ Week 1 Monday Night Football game against Oakland while he continued to recover from an Achilles tendon injury as well as a broken pinkie finger.

That makes Sunday’s game against Pittsburgh the first-ever opening week game for Thomas, one of the Broncos’ starting receivers.

“It’s my first game to go out and play with the team, healthy,” Thomas said. “So I’m excited.”
